Careers Page

Lockheed Martin has an overall excellent website design.  They break out their jobs into Students, Experienced and Military.  Lockheed has excellent job navigation tools designed to allow you to filter and drill into the jobs you are interested in by state, city, job title.

Veterans Resources
The Lockheed Martin  career website demonstrates its commitment to hiring veterans via four key resources.  These include (1) a dedicated veterans job search page with a built in (2) military skills translator, (3) a dedicated on line forum called Military Connect that allows veterans to sign up, have access to additional job search tools and interact with assigned military relations project managers who can help veterans with their transition and lastly (4) an on line chat function that has specific chat sessions for transitioning military.   Lockheed Martin’s veterans job resources sets the standard for other DoD contractors to follow.  If you are a transitioning military member or veteran you owe it to yourself to check out LM’s veterans resources.

Talent Network
They have a Talent Network that job seekers can join to apply to jobs and receive job alert updates.  After joining the Lockheed Martin Talent network you will need to be prepared to provide the following information to get the most out of the site.  Contact Information, Work Experience Summary, Education Summary, Copy of Resume and Cover Letter.  The system allows you to post multiple resume’s and cover letters tailored to each job applied to.

While it takes time to tailor your resume and cover letter for each job, I highly recommend you do this.  The site also allows you to save jobs for posting to later and link in your social media accounts, namely Linked In.  I recommend joining the Talent Network and Military Connect to aid in your job search.

I started my DoD Contracting career with Lockheed Martin as a software engineer and worked for them for two years before our division was spun off to form L-3 Technologies.  I had a great experience as a Lockheed Martin employee and learned a lot.  I could not have asked for a better company to start my career in DoD contracting with.
