Why explore a career as a Department of Defense (DoD) contractor

As a veteran and an active DoD contractor for the past 22 years I highly recommend transitioning military, veterans, and reservists consider a DoD contracting career.  One of the primary reasons for my recommendation is because DoD contractors highly value veterans as employees.  Additionally, DoD contractors get to work with industry leading technologies and amazingly talented people.  Also DoD contractors play an active role in the defense of our great nation.

I didn’t know they built that

DoD contracting jobs involve working for incredible companies who build amazing systems.  For example, Lockheed Martin builds and sustains satellite systems like the Global Positioning System (GPS) and the Space Based Infrared System (SBIRS).  Boeing builds aircraft like the B-52 bomber and AH 64 Apache helicopter.  General Dynamics builds the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS), and Abrams tanks.  Huntington Ingalls builds Virginia class submarines.  Northrop Grumman develops UAVs like the Global Hawk and Fire Scout.  Raytheon builds Tomahawk missiles and the famed Patriot missile interceptor system.  Additionally, supporting all these systems requires jobs for numerous disciplines to include IT, cybersecurity, contracting, human resources, finance, logistics, business development, engineering (hardware and software), training, quality, field engineering, welding, electricians, facilities maintenance, and facility security to name a few.

Your secret advantage

If you are a transitioning military member or a veteran, your military experience makes you a valuable commodity to Defense Contractor employers who need employees like you.  Employees that understand the military culture, jargon, equipment used and maintain a security clearance.  These traits give you a distinct advantage when competing for jobs in DoD contracting.  Also worth mentioning is most DoD contracting jobs offer excellent pay and benefits and are protected from outsourcing.

My desire in creating this website is to develop the leading web resource to help all transitioning military, veterans, and reservists find and secure a job as a DoD contractor as quickly as possible.  Also, after helping you land that great DoD Contracting job I plan to add additional resources to help you excel in your career.  Thank you for your time and service and I look forward to helping you in any way I can.
